If you start your journey at Ringebu and head north there are a few nice routes you can take. This is just another one that goes through the Fv385 and continues through 3.
In the first part you'll encounter the best corners and the most beautiful landscape. Remember to stop and enjoy the views. I was driving alone most of the time and I could enjoy all these open corners with lots of visibility. There are a few things to watch out, though: In the highest part the road is not in a perfect condition, so you have to be a bit careful; also be very careful with sheep (or other animals) crossing the road.
The second part, along the road 3 there are lots of straights and the road is in perfect condition. Here there are also a few points where you can stop for sightseeing. You'll see a few speed cameras along this road.


Scenic alternative to E39 in Trøndelag

This is a road that goes along a valley, parallel to the E39. The environment is beautiful, but the road is in poor condition in some parts. There are some nice corners with very high visibility, but the cracked surface of the road forced me to take them very slowly.
Towards the end, you'll meet the road 70. This road is in a better condition, with many straights to speed up, but with less corners.


R27 : Ringebu - Folldal

A great alternative to the much more travelled routes between Oslo and Trondheim (E6 or E3). Basically, a diversion from the E6. At Ringebu take off up the hill to the East (left). Soon you are on the naked mountain, with great vistas to behold.

The route passes through a National Park, and has multiple mountain lakes and ponds with plenty fish. There is also lots of wildlife - make sure you dont hit any of them!

One stopping-place in particular is beautiful. Look for the sign for special Sight.

Note: The route is not open all year, but should be for most of the biking-season)
