This may incorporate parts of other routes but I found this to be a great little ride around the Essex/ Suffolk / Cambs borders. It has a bit of everything, the road from Saffron Walden up through Linton to Dullingham is quite country roads with some nice straight sections and some sharp bends, passing though a number of lovely villages. Cheveley to Wickhambrook is a after stretch but still very much on B roads and then the joys of the A143 to Haverhill a faster road with some lovely sweeping bends. From Haverhill you have a choice of returns - the road down to Finchingfield perhaps or as I did, back to Saffron Walden then Debden and home. As this is my first route I have given it fairly average ratings - the road surface was generally good, some of the more country parts had some road debris ( it was January after all ! ) but for large parts I was the only vehicle on the road. No cops or cameras to worry about. A great couple of hours
