The wife and I took the trip from wolf lodge turn off and took 97 around the east side of the lake. Took about 1-1/2 hours on a 05 Honda Shadow 600 vlx. Then took hwy 3 back to 90 via 4th of July pass. It too was also a nice rd. Lots of turns on 3, make sure your paying attention as the view can distract you. All n All a very nice ride. Make sure you have gear for rain and some chilly sections. Weather can sneak up on you.
Although not really a coastal road, it does have that feel (hence the classification) mostly good visibility corners and pleasant scenery
